Bruce Thomas is a Director of Carbon Training International Pty Ltd, a specialist training and coaching organisation focussing on the skills required to respond to the low carbon economy.

At CTi Bruce is responsible for climate change risk, carbon risk and policy issues. He has worked as an independent sustainability management and risk management consultant providing climate change risk advice to business and government. Prior to 2006 he spent almost 30 years in the insurance industry with Swiss Reinsurance Company as a Group Expert Underwriter and Member of Group Senior Management in Australia and Asia. He has been active in developing business opportunities in many Asia Pacific markets.

Bruce has presented on climate change, sustainability and other emerging risk policy and risk issues to conferences in Japan, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia and has conducted climate change, risk and sustainability workshops and training programs in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines and Australia.

Bruce is an Associate of Risk Frontiers at Macquarie University, a Director of Environment Business Australia Ltd, a member of the Steering Committee of the National Business Leaders Forum on Sustainable Development and a former member of the United Nations Environment Program Australasian Insurance Advisory Committee and the Federal Minister for the Environment's Finance & Sustainability Roundtable.
