Our forthcoming series of forums will be focused around the theme 'The new market - passing the climate change test'

July Export Devlopment Forums - Sydney and Melbourne

It has been decided to postpone the Export Development Forums.  We apologise for this and for any inconvenience caused.  The reason for the postponement is that we wish to support the series of Green Paper Public Information Sessions being planned by the Federal Government for next week. While the dates did not directly clash, everyone is focused on Green Paper / Garnaut Review Draft Report and we appreciate that there is only so much time available to each of us in this ‘carbon intense’ period.  However, given the international investment and technology deployment opportunities that are so important to our sector, we will be rescheduling these forums probably in the 3rd or 4th week of September, final dates will be confirmed with you once we have the release date for the supplementary Garnaut Review paper.

CARBON MARKET EXPO AUSTRALASIA 2008, Gold Coast, 30 -31 October

This event replaces the annual EBA Business & Sustainable Summit

Environment Business Australia and the Asia-Pacific Emissions Trading Forum are pleased to announce that with the Queensland Government and Gold Coast City Council we will be hosting Australia ’s first dedicated, industry-hosted trade fair & conference for carbon market participants & service providers across Australasia . This major market event will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.  Regular updates on the program, speakers, technical workshops, trade fair, sponsorship opportunities and side events can be accessed at www.carbonexpo.com.au

Carbon Market Expo Australasia will be the first significant Carbon Trade Fair and Conference organised by leading industry associations for Australian businesses to showcase their range of carbon market products and services.  Recognising that the climate change agenda has substantially progressed beyond just science and policy, to now actively engage an increasing number of businesses, the event is intended to provide an opportunity for private sector businesses to showcase their activities, services and products in the emerging carbon market.

Carbon Market Expo Australasia will through the conference and trade fair, address cutting edge issues in trading, markets, technologies, infrastructure and will take an in-depth look at the policy drivers and necessary financing.

Carbon Market Expo Australasia will offer participants the opportunity to do business and access current information regarding new carbon market products and services from a wide range of suppliers including energy providers and other emitting industries, carbon offset providers, carbon market consultants, carbon market brokers and legal advisers, banks and financial institutions, technology providers, and suppliers of energy efficient and ‘cleantech’ products to assist businesses in reducing, managing and offsetting carbon emissions. Participants will include leading businesses and industries in Australia , New Zealand and South East Asia that are currently involved in the carbon market, and those interested in engaging in this emerging market.  Market sectors that will be significantly represented include energy generation (‘traditional’ and renewable), mining, transport, petroleum producers, manufacturing & construction, agriculture & forestry, financial services, and carbon market services.  Significant attendance from Government agencies is also expected.

More information will be sent directly to EBA members, otherwise keep an eye on this website or see www.carbonexpo.com.au for more information, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
